Oslo Havn 1798 - App concept
A downloadable game
This project was developed under the endorsement of the company Tidvis, however it is not a product that they have worked on themselves, nor will be publishing or want to be available to all publicly. I therefore ask that you only use this application to demonstrate the functionality and do not share this as a finished product.
The application itself is supposed to be a concept for a tourist application, and will let you experience the city of Oslo as it was back in the year of 1798. This specific year was chosen by the company and was out of my personal control.
The application includes four primary features
- The map. This is a map of old Oslo, which has markers on it. These markers lead to different locations where you find new QR codes or AR codes to scan which all give you a unique experience. The "Navigate here" button leads you to the code's location in Oslo, however this has no functionality in the prototype as the only working codes are the ones listed below. The system is not unlike pokemon GO, in the sense that you must walk there and scan the codes to use the application. (Not in this concept version, but if this were more than a prototype that would be the vision)
- The AR figure of Peter Meyer. By clicking on the AR button from the map's hamburger menu, you can open the AR scanner. If you use the AR marker linked here, you can scan it with your phone to see a live AR version of the historical figure.
- QR scanner. The QR button gives you access to a simple QR scanner, which if you scan the supplied QR code, will spawn "Fisketorvet", which roughly translates to the fish market, on your phone. This area is one of the locations recreated in 3D to give a representation of how Oslo looked back in the day.
- Dialogue system. While in the fish market scene after scanning the QR code, there is a UI button on the top left of your screen. Clicking this will start a dialogue with multiple choices. This dialogue is just a simulation of what a conversation would be like back in 1798.
